Stay tuned as there's a rumour floating around that my friends may be challenging each other to a macaron throw-down Bobby Flay style in the kitchen afterwards!

Pride & Prejudice (Zombie Free Edition)

Tuesday 28 December 2010

Get a first-rate Jane Austen fix by cozying up with this Out of Print fleece sweatshirt and Penguin's classic clothbound beauty.

Out of Print (I geekily panicked and thought that meant everything was sold out at first, hah) revives iconic book covers to transform them into awesome apparel. An added bonus to a company where "each shirt is treated to feel soft and worn like a well-read book," Out of Print also donates one book to a community in need for every shirt sold.

How rad is that?

I heart Ramen

Tuesday 21 December 2010

Dreaming of a delicious, warm, and giant bowl of Tonkotsu Ra-men from the Kenzo Ramen shop in Toronto.

This beguiling bowl holds thickly sliced pork belly, hearty broth, a hard boiled egg and fresh, long stemmed Chinese greens for a full bodied flavour that leaves pho wondering what went wrong.

Luckily, Kenzo has three locations to serve us (Dundas West, The Annex, and North York) and all three noodle shops are open daily from 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

What's your favourite place to have ramen in the city?

Hooray! The newest documentary featuring Feist and her creative process is now out on DVD and just in time for the holidays. Entitled 'Look at What the Light Did Now', the film will also showcase many of Feist's regular collaborators; a total boon as the movie offers up a more comprehensive and intriguing view on how this charming artist keeps composing songs that we can't stop falling in love with.

Twas the night before Krampusnacht...

Sunday 5 December 2010

When all through the house,
Every creature was stirring, for a jovial joust.
Old Man Winter on one side, lethargy in hand.
But you can't stop cool artwork, cheap beer, and fun loving folk from ruling this land!
