Stealing a moment away from writing my crowdfunding article to share this breathtakingly beautiful video I came across on the {frolic!} blog.

Promoting a new website centred on the intimate allure of small gatherings, Kinfolk weaves together a communal love for sharing delicious food and unhurried conversation in simple surroundings.

It's worth mentioning that the geniuses behind this imaginative glimpse into Kinfolk is a Washington based new media production company called VsTheBrain. More lovely and elegant visual offerings from them can be found here.

And before you fall over from swooning, I want to make sure you mark your calendars for July 15 when Kinfolk Magazine officially launches online!

Until then, wait with me with bated breath over at the Kinfolk journal, where this growing community of artists will be sharing some inspirations that honor the rituals of everyday life.

Toy Stories

I'm utterly charmed by the sweet little owls adorning this home in the premiere issue of Trad Home magazine!

Designed by Suysel dePedro Cunningham and Anne Maxwell Foster for their joint design venture, Tilton Fenwick, the look is 'Country Cosmopolitan' and nearly pitch perfect.

The only thing I'd be tempted to do is swap out the owls for cuter and even chubbier Totoro plushies (!)

My Dream Studio

Kung hei fat choy! Now that the Chinese New Year is here, it's time to 'hop to it' on one of my newest goals for 2011 - designing, furnishing, and embellishing my own personal studio space.

Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a space case when it comes to interior decorating decisions... (can I paint everything blue because it's easy?) so I'm relying on some of my favourite blogs and online mags to help me clarify my personal style.

If you'd like to follow along, I've dedicated a Pinterest board to collecting studio inspiration and I'm also happily flipping through the latest issue of Rue magazine (hot off the presses!) for ideas too.

In the meantime, please feel free to contribute any golden nuggets of advice on how you created your own personal studio escape :) After all, the most creative people always inhabit the most creatively organized spaces!
